Gabrielle Gantley is a contemporary folkloric artist whose work explores the places where landscape, memory, mythology, and the human experience meet.
Rooted in the landscapes of the American South and shaped by Celtic folklore, rural life, botanical forms, and personal mythology, her work transforms familiar places into something just beyond the ordinary.
Forests remember. Old roads wander. Mountains watch. Figures emerge as guardians, storytellers, and echoes of lives lived within the landscape.
Working across mixed media, painting, drawing, and illustration, Gantley builds a visual world that feels at once ancient and deeply personal—one where folklore is not something left in the past, but something still being created.

About Gabrielle
I’m Gabrielle Gantley, a Georgia-based artist, illustrator, and lifelong storyteller.
My work has always been shaped by the things that surround me—old stories, rural landscapes, family history, nature, machines, people, and the small details that make a place or a life feel remembered. Over time, those influences have grown into a visual language that feels increasingly my own: somewhere between the familiar and the fantastical.
I’m especially drawn to folklore, Celtic mythology, Southern and Appalachian landscapes, botanical forms, the human figure, and the idea that ordinary places can hold stories of their own. A road can become a threshold. A forest can have a guardian. A person can carry an entire history in the way they stand.
Working across mixed media, drawing, painting, and illustration, I allow my work to move between observation and imagination rather than fitting neatly into a single category.
At the heart of it, I make art about story, place, memory, and becoming—and the little bit of magic that can exist inside all of them.

Small Works 2025 — Winterville Cultural Center Gallery
Selected for the 2025 Small Works exhibition at the Winterville Cultural Center Gallery in Winterville, Georgia. The group exhibition brought together 85 original works by 60 regional artists, celebrating the intimacy and storytelling possibilities of art on a small scale.
Moonlit Watcher
Dynamix 2026 — Gallerium
Selected for Dynamix 2026, Gallerium’s juried international online group exhibition exploring motion, energy, and transformation through contemporary art. Presented from March through May 2026, the exhibition brought together artists from around the world in a digital showcase centered on the idea that art—and the stories it carries—is never truly static.

I accept a limited number of commissions for original artwork inspired by the people, animals, places, objects, and stories that matter to you. From meaningful portraits and landscapes to beloved vehicles and more imaginative or symbolic pieces, each commission is approached as an original work of art rather than simply a reproduction of a photograph.
